What helps

Four short paragraphs is enough.

Nothing formal is needed to start: no summary document, no signed confidentiality agreement, no folder of files to review. If the business cannot be explained without a slide deck, that is useful information in itself.

  • What the business does and who pays for it.
  • Roughly how much revenue it makes, and whether it turns a profit.
  • Who owns it and who decides.
  • The one constraint (or the one number) that made you think of us.

Please do not

Four things this address is not for.

Fundraising.
We do not manage outside money and we are not raising any. There is no fund to pitch to and no pool of money set aside to compete for.
Vendor and software pitches.
We do not buy software for the companies we work with, and we take no fee for recommending or reselling a product.
Recruiting and staffing.
We do not place people in jobs and we do not hire by the hour. Lists of candidates we did not ask for will not be read.
Media and speaking requests.
These are rarely accepted. The writing on the notes page is the public record we intend to keep.
